1. Purpose and Philosophy
Triad Champions ("Champions") is dedicated to developing recreational and competitive artistic roller skaters in a positive, structured, and supportive environment.
Our program emphasizes strong foundational skating skills, quality instruction, sportsmanship, personal development, and the long-term development of each athlete.
Champions welcomes skaters with different goals and levels of experience. Participation in the club does not require every member to compete; however, skaters choosing the competitive program accept the additional responsibilities and expectations associated with representing Champions in competition.
2. Club Membership
Membership in Champions provides participation in the club and access to club programs for which the skater is eligible.
Membership does not automatically include private coaching, rink admission, practice fees, competition fees, testing fees, governing-body memberships, uniforms, costumes, travel expenses, or other expenses unless specifically stated as part of a particular program.
Members are responsible for maintaining any memberships, registrations, or eligibility requirements necessary for the activities in which they participate.
3. Club and Rink Relationship
Champions conducts programs and activities at participating roller skating facilities with the cooperation of rink management.
Champions membership and rink admission or floor-use fees are separate unless specifically included in a Champions program.
All Champions members and their families are expected to respect rink rules, rink management, employees, facilities, and other rink patrons.
4. Practice and Floor Time
Skaters are expected to use scheduled practice time productively and safely.
During club practices, skaters must remain aware of other skaters, lessons, dances, figures, routines, and activities taking place on the floor. Coaches and rink management may establish reasonable floor procedures to provide all skaters with an appropriate opportunity to practice.
Unsafe, disruptive, or intentionally interfering behavior will not be permitted.
5. Coaching
Champions seeks to provide qualified coaching and a cooperative coaching environment.
Private and group instruction may be provided by coaches authorized to teach within the Champions program and approved to coach at the rink. Coaches operating within the facility are governed by the separate Triad Champions Coaches Agreement and applicable rink requirements.
Private coaching arrangements are between the coach and the skater or parent/guardian unless the lesson is specifically offered as a Champions program. Champions encourages communication among skaters, parents, and coaches and expects coaching relationships to be treated professionally and respectfully.
6. Lessons and Coaching Fees
Private lesson fees are established by individual coaches unless otherwise designated by Champions.
Skaters and parents are responsible for understanding lesson rates, payment arrangements, cancellation policies, and other expectations established by their coach. Participation in club membership does not guarantee private lesson availability with a particular coach.
7. Recreational and Competitive Participation
Champions recognizes that skaters participate for different reasons.
Recreational members may participate in eligible club practices, classes, achievement programs, exhibitions, and other activities without an obligation to compete.
Competitive skaters choose to represent Champions in competitive artistic roller skating and may be expected to maintain additional standards regarding attendance, training, preparation, competition participation, uniforms, deadlines, and sportsmanship.
Competitive placement, events, routines, dances, figures, partnerships, and competition readiness will be determined through consultation between the skater, parent/guardian when applicable, and the coaching staff. Competition participation is not guaranteed solely by club membership.
8. Competitions, Testing, and Events
Skaters participating in competitions, achievement tests, exhibitions, clinics, or other organized events are responsible for meeting applicable registration and eligibility requirements.
Families are responsible for submitting requested information and payments by established deadlines. Champions and its coaches are not responsible for missed entries or opportunities resulting from a skater or family's failure to meet communicated deadlines or eligibility requirements.
When representing Champions, skaters and families are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively upon the club and the sport.
9. Conduct and Sportsmanship
Champions expects respectful conduct from skaters, parents, guardians, coaches, and other individuals associated with the club.
Members and families shall treat fellow skaters, coaches, rink staff, volunteers, competitors, officials, and judges with courtesy and respect. Harassment, bullying, intimidation, threatening behavior, deliberate disruption, or abusive conduct will not be tolerated.
Disagreements regarding coaching, competition results, judging, club decisions, or other concerns should be addressed privately and respectfully through the appropriate coach or club representative.
Public or social-media conduct that targets, harasses, or disparages individual skaters, coaches, officials, judges, rink personnel, or other club members may be considered a violation of this agreement when it materially affects the club, its members, or the skating environment.
10. Parent and Guardian Expectations
Parents and guardians play an important role in creating a productive environment for young skaters.
Parents are encouraged to support their skater's development while allowing coaches to coach and skaters to learn. Questions or concerns regarding instruction should be discussed directly with the appropriate coach at a suitable time rather than during active instruction.
Parents and guardians are expected to ensure that minor skaters arrive prepared and on time for scheduled practices, lessons, competitions, and other commitments.
11. Safety and Athlete Protection
All participants must follow applicable rink safety requirements and the rules of organizations governing activities in which they participate.
Champions supports appropriate athlete-protection practices and professional boundaries between adults and minor athletes. Where SafeSport or other athlete-protection requirements apply, participating coaches, skaters, parents, and volunteers are expected to comply with those requirements.
Safety concerns should be reported promptly to the appropriate coach, club representative, rink management, or governing organization as appropriate.
12. Financial Responsibilities
Families are responsible for understanding the costs associated with the programs they choose. Depending upon participation, expenses may include club membership dues; rink admission or practice fees; private or group coaching fees; governing-body memberships; achievement test fees; competition entry fees; uniforms and costumes; music or choreography expenses; equipment and skate maintenance; clinics and special training; and travel, lodging, and meals.
Champions will make reasonable efforts to communicate club-controlled fees before they are incurred. Fees charged directly by coaches, rinks, governing organizations, competition organizers, vendors, or other third parties are not controlled by Champions.
13. Attendance and Commitment
Champions understands that families have responsibilities outside of skating. Recreational members are encouraged to participate consistently so they can receive the greatest benefit from the program.
Competitive skaters are expected to demonstrate a level of attendance and preparation appropriate to their competitive goals. Repeated absences, missed lessons, or insufficient preparation may affect a competitive skater's readiness for an event and may result in modification or withdrawal of an entry when participation would not be appropriate or safe.
Communication with coaches regarding anticipated absences is strongly encouraged.
14. Club Policies
Champions may establish additional reasonable policies concerning practices, programs, competition procedures, uniforms, scheduling, safety, coaching operations, and other club activities. These policies may be updated as the program develops.
Members will be informed of material policy changes affecting their participation.
15. Discipline and Membership
Champions prefers to resolve concerns through communication whenever reasonably possible.
Depending upon the nature and severity of a situation, violations of club expectations may result in a discussion, warning, limitation of participation, suspension, or termination of club membership.
Champions reserves the right to take immediate action when conduct presents a safety concern, involves serious misconduct, or substantially disrupts the skating environment. Membership decisions will be made with consideration for the interests of the affected skater, other club members, coaches, the rink, and the overall program.
16. Acknowledgment
By joining Triad Champions, members and families acknowledge that they have read and understand this Club Membership Agreement.
Participation in skating involves responsibilities to the club, coaches, rink, fellow skaters, and the sport. Members and families agree to support the standards of conduct, sportsmanship, safety, and cooperation described in this agreement.
Specific schedules, fees, competition requirements, and operational policies may be communicated separately and may change during the membership period.
